Safety
Safety, said only as far as we know
What Hey Minie can say today about parent control, and what still needs a written answer before launch.
Parents ask what a voice story will say to a child, and who can see it. This page lists the controls we can describe, and the proofs we will not invent.
What the product does
- Stories are for ages 3 to 10, in English, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.
- A child listens, speaks and can ask about the story. The session is meant to end.
- A child-lock mode can keep the session inside Hey Minie until a parent unlocks it with a fingerprint or password.
- Kurma, the parent section, is separate. A parent can ask what the child asked, learned or wondered, including TV time and new words.
- Hey Minie is a storytelling tool. It is not a therapist, and it does not stand in for a parent.
What we will not claim yet
Hey Minie uses a screen. The child is meant to listen, speak, choose, and finish. We will not publish a safety certificate, a count of incidents, or an audit we have not attached. If a counsellor review or a written moderation process exists in the product repos, copy the current description into this page when it is checked. Until then it stays TODO.
Questions parents ask
Is this an open chat?
It is a story the child can talk to. It is not described here as an open-ended chat. The boundary parents should rely on is the one in the current build, plus Kurma behind a parent unlock.
Does it block other apps?
No. Child lock holds this session. Other apps stay on the device.
