Vijayawada
Telugu stories for families in Vijayawada
Telugu-first evenings in Vijayawada and NTR district. A short voice story for ages 3 to 10, with English school left at school.
Vijayawada still has a lot of homes where Telugu is the table language, not a weekend subject. English-medium schools are here too, and the child who answers a grandparent in English is not a rare case. A bedtime story in Telugu is a small, repeatable way to keep the home language in the mouth.
NTR district, said once
Little Leap Digital Pvt Ltd, the company behind Hey Minie, has its registered office in Nandigama, in NTR district, Andhra Pradesh 521185. That is a fact about the company. It is not a claim that the stories are only for this district, or that neighbours have tested them for you. Founders are Manjush Vundemodalu and Anuj Jindal.
The app is the same one families use elsewhere: Minie on the home screen, a story library, voice questions, Kurma, the fingerprint-locked parent section, and a TV app paired by QR code. Android is live on Google Play. The redesigned iPhone and iPad app is in TestFlight and is not on the public App Store yet. The TestFlight invite and the parent WhatsApp group are on the install page.
How a night can look
- Telugu story from the library. Two or three nights a week is a solid start. See Telugu bedtime stories.
- One question the child asks Minie, about the story, not about their day at school.
- If a grandparent told stories before smartphones, invite them to listen once. Do not make them compete with the app.
- English homework stays earlier in the evening. The story is not the tuition.
The same Telugu guidance is written in Telugu on the తెలుగు page. Visakhapatnam families have a separate page because the shape of the day there is not this river city.
