Hindi kahaniyan for kids

Hindi kahaniyan for children aged 3 to 10. Minie tells the story, your child asks questions by voice, and the screen does not become the evening.

A Hindi kahani at bedtime is doing a different job from a Hindi period at school. School can be letters, blanks and correction. Home can be a voice the child already trusts, talking about a courtyard, a tree, rain, or a red raincoat. Hey Minie keeps that voice in the story, then lets the child talk back.

When the child answers in English

This is normal in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and in plenty of homes abroad. Understanding runs ahead of speaking. Do not stop the story to demand a full Hindi sentence. Ask one small question. 'Kaun tha?' 'Barish kaisi thi?' If they answer in English, repeat their answer in Hindi and move on. The Hindi page in Hindi is there for the adult who wants the same guidance without switching language.

Kabir is 9 and is with Papa. Tara is 6 and is with Mum. Meera is 4 and is with Nani. Those three ages are a fair map of how long a Hindi story can be. Meera's age wants repetition. Tara's age wants to know if someone was fair. Kabir's age can retell.

A week that is small enough to keep

  1. Three nights: one Hindi story from the library. The Red Raincoat is an example title, not a whole syllabus.
  2. One night: the child tells the story back to a grandparent, on a call or in the room.
  3. One night: English, so Hindi is a habit and not a test.
  4. The other nights: you decide. A blank night is allowed.

Parents, separately

The Kurma parent section is fingerprint-locked. A parent can ask questions such as how much TV the child watched, or what new words they learned. That screen is not the story. The story is Minie, voice-first, and then the phone can leave the bed.

Questions parents ask

Are these Hindi stories only for children who speak Hindi all day?

No. They are useful when Hindi is the home language and English is the school language, and also when a child hears Hindi from one parent or a grandparent.

Can my child ask questions in Hindi?

Yes. Children talk to Minie by voice and ask questions about the story. You do not need them to type.
